About this place
Meat may be Biando’s signature, but there’s more than one way to build a meal here. Diners mention tender meat dishes and a tomato dish paired with shiso and tomato jelly. One reviewer found it easy to enjoy despite not liking tomatoes, making it an appealing choice between richer meat plates.
For a more substantial meat dish, the handmade hamburg steak comes in a 150g portion, with a choice of mushroom demi-glace sauce or grated daikon with ponzu. One diner praised the hamburg steak, which could easily take centre stage as a meal. The meat options go beyond steak and hamburg steak, too: there’s seared beef nigiri and snack-sized roast beef, available in portions from 50g. The menu works for a night of grazing as well as a more filling dinner.
Though it’s known for meat, Biando’s sashimi has also made an impression on diners. Some say they return for the daily specials, which can include yellowtail sashimi, fresh oysters and seafood chijimi (a savoury Korean-style pancake). Checking the day’s recommendations and choosing a meal around what’s on offer is part of the appeal.
For a drink to go with the meat, the menu recommends a Sui gin soda, made with plenty of fresh lemon and Beefeater gin. There’s also a sour cocktail described as less sweet and more lemon-forward. Sake drinkers can try a tasting set of three varieties, served in 60ml pours, and choose a match for the meat or seafood specials.
